About the Position: This is a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Security) position serving as a Chief of the Cyber Readiness Division and a senior Cybersecurity specialist in the Army Cybersecurity Program for all information technology (IT) assets under the purview of the Human Resources commander and those tenants Supported by the command's infrastructure. located within the Human Resources Command, G6, Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Manage the risk management, security, and contingency planning programs.
Serve as Supervisor/Mentor to Assigned Personnel.
Influence, motivate, and challenge other; adapt leadership styles to a variety of situations.
Act as the IA Subject Matter Expert for configuration control of large, complex AIS/Networks.
Ensure Information Technology devices and networks are Army Information Assurance Vulnerability Management and Anti-Virus Program compliant.
Manage computer system security for a large computer installation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires access to classified information. Incumbent will be required to complete a Standard Form (SF) 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
- This position is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
- Must possess and maintain IA certifications baseline and computing environment incumbent to their position within six months IAW DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2 and the Information Assurance Training and Certification Best Business Practice (BBP).
- This position requires that the employee travel temporarily away from their normal duty station up to 25% of the time for work, training and/or conferences.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves reviewing threats and vulnerabilities to Information Systems and Network security and taking corrective action as required. Possess demonstrated experience developing alternative approaches and implements appropriate countermeasures required to protect information systems assets from damage, destruction, alteration or misappropriation. Possess demonstrated experience developing and maintaining sensitive (unclassified) and classified personnel information system provides for the appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards as required by the appropriate regulations, federal statutes and the Privacy Act. Possess experience in compiling and maintaining Information Systems facility security profiles, operations security and standard operating procedures in accordance with appropriate regulations.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training,as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing work independently that rarely requires editing or review by others.
(2) Customer Service -Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations;knows about available products and services;is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving simple and routine problems, questions, or complaints and providing support and guidance to customers on non-routine issues; serving as a primary resource for customers, requesting assistance with complex issues when necessary; and participating in meetings and providing advice to customers in own area of expertise.
(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example,technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations;listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: expressing facts and ideas in a clear, concise, convincing, and organized manner; clearly conveying moderately complex ideas, concepts, and information to customers; exhibiting active listening by demonstrating understanding of audience comments and/or questions.
(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: identifying and solving problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives; recognizing and taking action to address non-routine problems; soliciting feed back from multiple stakeholders to understand an issue or problem and accurately assess its root causes and potential solutions; seeking supervisory review where appropriate.
