About the Position: This is a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) position located within the Human Resources Command, Enterprise Modernization Directorate (EMoD), Fort Knox KY.

Duties

Supervise 90 personnel supporting two data centers and geographically-dispersed infrastructure Utilize experience as an Executive for workload, plans, priorities, metrics, accountability, and corrective actions Develop and enforce IT strategy, policy, procedures, and service level agreements Enforce configurations which assure cyber-security compliance on office automation systems Utilize knowledge of IT technologies and cyber-security risks: networks, servers, PCs, telephony, peripherals Utilize knowledge of an organization's Continuity of Operations (COOP) policies, practices, and tools Manage IT projects: initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out Translate user requirements into project plans which provide customized solutions Monitor assigned projects, measure performance, report status, and course-correct progress Define IT procurement criteria, building life cycle requirements and procurement requests. Engage contract/contracting personnel to correct service failures and provide recommended changes. Utilize knowledge of computer warranties, software license management, and warranty repair processes Manage existing server fleet and determine future systems infrastructure to meet mission goals Manage/execute allocated budgets for equipment, tools, awards, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program
  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. Travel may be required to attend training, conferences, and other mission requirements.
  • This position is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE,6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • This position requires a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position is designated as a Key Position to ensure continuity in mission and cannot be vacated during national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization.
  • Civilians in key positions must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
