You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (PERSONAL PROPERTY), in the Logistics department, Supply Division of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.
Duties
You will review and interpret new/revised transportation directives and issue regulatory guidance to customers.
You will explain shipment and storage options, excess costs, and special procedures for shipments under various types of orders.
You will analyze and monitor shipment reports for quality of service, and coordinate customer complaints with carrier and their agents suggesting conditions to recommend improvements.
You will process requests for transportation of personal effects involving commuted or Personally Procured Moves.
You will compute allowable, estimated, and actual costs considering method of shipment, quantity, and type of personal effects to be shipped and/or stored.
You will be appointed as Transportation Agent for the Installation Transportation Officer (ITO) to sign documents, approve expenditures of funds, and other limited traffic management decisions in absence of the ITO and Distribution Manager.
You will conduct group and/or individual counseling for shipment and storage of personal property involving complex characteristics.
Requirements

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license and possess a Government Vehicle operator permit.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You must be able to successfully complete and maintain DoS Passport Agent Certification Course must be completed within 12 months of employment and be renewed every two years.
- This position is subject to recall. You may be recalled to duty.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing counseling and entitlements in arranging and coordinating pickup, personally procured move, shipment and/or storage of household goods and vehicles.
