We expect to fill 1 position at this time; however, additional positions may be filled from this announcement if they become available.
Duties
Maintain responsibility for the technical and administrative supervision of professional and technical positions.
Determine acceptability, rejection, or correction of internal employee and contractor work.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; creating assignments based on capability and expertise.
Serve as a Training Program Manager.
Maintain responsibility for programming and annual budgeting submissions ensuring program accomplishments are within budget.
Resolve differences that arise with the staff, subject matter experts, and other production staff on technical and artistic matters.
Evaluate media products to ensure they meet technical industry standards established for the use of graphics, photography, and motion imagery.
Oversee production of multiple projects each year to support the wildland fire community across the nation.
Collaborate with agency, cooperator, and industry visual communication and audiovisual production experts.

- Supervisory Probationary Period: If you are selected for this position, you will be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period if one has not previously been completed.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the minimum qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience.
For GS-12: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Working in cooperation with Fireline personnel, subject matter experts and leadership at all levels; obtaining broadcast quality video footage of wildland fire, prescribed fires, fire equipment demonstrations and/or other related fire training opportunities; using computer-based video editing systems to produce broadcast quality training or media products; transforming spoken or written information into visual presentations for a large organization; experience in managing projects and leading project teams.
There is no substitution of education for specialize experience at the GS-12 and above grade levels.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
