About the position: This position will be assigned to the Scott AFB Event Center. This is a Flexible position, 0-40 hours.

Duties

Secures linen, glassware and silverware, depending on the particular format (menu, food and beverages). Readies groups of tables for food and beverages, making sure that dishes, glasses and silverware meet cleanliness standards, and that linens are spotless and condiment containers are filled. Follows specific instructions and rigid timelines, secures food from kitchen, and carries non-alcoholic beverages from bar and serves customers. Refills food and non-alcoholic beverage containers and performs emergency cleanup services. Performs cleaning duties as required to include washing duties. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
• Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training.

Qualifying Experience: No previous experience or training is required. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions and prepare checks for patrons. Must be physically able to stand, stoop, bend and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages. Must be able to communicate with customers and possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
