Duties
This position is located under the Office of the Director, in Washington, District of Columbia.
This position is a Special Assistant located in the Office of the Director, ATF's missions are to prevent terrorism, reduce violent crime, and protect the public. These missions are carried out by enforcing Federal laws and regulations related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, and arson; supporting and assisting the law enforcement community outreach efforts of the Federal, State, and local and international agencies; providing innovative training programs in support of criminal and regulatory enforcement functions; and other related activities.
Qualifications
To qualify for 15, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include:
Working across ATF directorates to accomplish projects and tasks; AND
Preparing and presenting briefings to Senior Executive Service members both orally and in writing.
