Duties
Oversee one or more supporting programs for the unit’s operational success.
Act as the military personnel technical expert for the unit.
Monitor significant projects concerning Headquarters and Command-wide administrative issues.
Advise leadership and other staff regarding administrative matters.
Review correspondence to determine importance prior to submission to higher headquarters.
Provide technical guidance for administrative activities and personnel within the organization.
Organize resources for assigned programs and training events.
Review incoming policy to determine the impact on current work procedures and projects.
Determine the unit’s overall mission/deployment readiness status using various automation programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Requires successful completion of Unit Pay Administrator Course within 18 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of Unit Administrator Basic Course within 18 months of appointment required.
- Incumbent may be required to work weekends.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting military regulations, policies, principles, and procedures; identify problems and report findings on organizational programs; providing administrative guidance on unit requirements; reviewing training reports to identify training needs and/or changes needed; utilizing automated systems supporting various military programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
