You will serve as an ASSISTANT in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY/SPAWAR SYSTEMS COMMAND of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.
Duties
You will serve as the branch assistant for selected division(s) in the Fleet Installation Logistics Division (FIELD) Department performing duties including initiating, tracking, and maintaining RPAs for assigned branches.
You will lead reviews which encompass Navy Enterprise Resource Planning. (ERP), and the Defense Travel System (DTS). Utilize the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to obtain security clearance information for branches.
You will serve as Lead timekeeper for an assigned branch and provide peer review with Naval correspondence procedures and directives.
You will be responsible for tracking employee travel orders, vouchers, and clearances in accordance with current travel regulations.
You will provide support for coordination of data calls, such as awards and promotions, and shall coordinate meetings and prepare presentation materials, as needed.

- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Generally, current Federal employees applying to STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or NG-01 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing clerical support in the areas of travel, correspondence, personnel actions, timekeeping; knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; Defense Travel System (DTS) software; Common Message Processor (CMP) (for drafting Naval Messages); and Software Applications & Products (SAP)/Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) applications.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions except Reporting Stenographer, GS-5. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
