Duties
You will identify trends in the use of funds to recommend adjustments in program spending.
You will provide information about, and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices, and regulations.
You will report the status of corrective actions resulting from audit findings.
You will independently performs and advises the Accounting Officer and Comptroller on all matters related to the assigned account to include quantity being ordered is a bona fide need, research variances, and the legality of purchases.
You will use a financial management system to track training requests, purchase requisitions, or contractual actions.
You will maintain an accurate and current financial status of assigned account.
You will use judgment to apply various policies and regulations to specific cases or problems.
You will maintain good working relationships with the Director of assigned accounts.
You will provide current updates to the Director regarding any changes, issues, or discrepancies with the assigned account.
You will generate and maintain current purchase reports to balance the budget, identify problems and/or discrepancies for corrections and brief corrective action plans to the Accounting Officer and the Comptroller.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical assistance and administration in a variety of financial functions to include formulation of budgets, cost estimates, reviewing and evaluating budget requests, and interpreting budget policies and practices.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing and formulating budgets, cost estimates, evaluating budget requests, interpreting budget policies; researching policies and regulations; and controlling and reporting obligations and expenditures.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-07:
- I have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education OR
- Superior Academic Achievement (must have been gained in qualifying for the position to be filled)
GS-09:
