Duties

You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers. You will perform analytical, forecasting and interpretive functions using accounting systems. You will perform tracking and control of funds for special programs. You will research regulatory material to obtain factual information. You will apply a wide range of analytical techniques to search results. You will contact employees inside and outside the organization to plan, arrange, coordinate or advise on work efforts and/or arrange to obtain information/data. You will compile, analyze and summarize financial and/or budget information related to assigned areas of a financial program.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing automated financial systems to track accounts information for an organization; formulation of budgets and cost estimates; reviewing budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.; and interpreting standard budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices and regulations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR

I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR

I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
