This position serves as a Facilities Management Specialist for the Department of Justice, Executive Office of United States Trustees (EOUST) Facilities Management Branch Washington DC 20530. This position is delegated the authority to manage and maintain several occupied facilities. The incumbent will serve as the space utilization manager of assigned facilities, automation, and telecommunication administrative operations.

A Facilities Management Specialist at full performance level will perform duties such as but not limited to: Provides authoritative technical, analytical, and management advisory support services ensuring early identification of problems and issues that will not affect the facilities and the resolution going forward. Analyzes and evaluates user requirements, and develops detailed specifications for design and construction of space, to include physical security, computer and telephone cabling and Design Intent Drawings (DIDs) using electronic computer aided design programs. Performing center-wide functions of safety, security, and facilities management, and other project assignments involving the application and the scope of activities to analyze staff actions. Collaborates with top management to negotiate, determine, schedule or coordinate supporting services.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Facilities Management Specialist at (GS-0301-13/14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). You qualify for a GS-13 Facilities Management Specialist if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector maintaining cradle to the grave aspects of project management as they relate to facilities maintenance; of managing costs and time of the facilities construction. You qualify for a GS-14 Facilities Management Specialist if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading cradle to the grave aspects of project management as they relate to renovation or construction; or evaluating the full design of projects and making changes as needed.
