Serves as a Product Support Manager (PSM) in the Logistics Management Division (LMD). The LMD is part of NASA's Office of Strategic Infrastructure and is charged with leading all of NASA's logistics programs. LMD supports NASA's Science Mission Directorate with lifecycle management of the Agency's Airborne Science Program.
Duties
Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Manage aviation assets and parts across NASA’s Centers, to include, oversight and management of contract repair parts for compliance.
Conduct cost analyses to validate product support strategy, including cost-benefit analyses as needed to meet mission program affordability goals.
Use predictive analysis and modeling tools to improve material availability and reliability, increase operational availability rates, and reduce operation and sustainment costs.
Write lifecycle plans for Aircraft and advises on optimized inventory of parts.
Manage asset accountability from acquisition to grave; prepare disposition plans for retiring assets and evaluate resources needed to retire assets.
Determine parts sparing plans and support needed for active aircraft.
Maintain maintenance reporting and evaluation of mission readiness for aircraft assets.
Coordinate between the Logistics Management Division (LMD) and Airborne Science Program on formulation of budget for aircraft.
Track funding for aircraft parts across different flying platforms.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
Developing status of aircraft and parts requirements for the flying missions;
Developing disposition plans and coordination of excess of aircraft and parts;
Creating lifecycle support and sparing plans for aircraft parts.
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Developing budget formulation for aircraft and parts to support missions;
Developing acquisition plans for procurement of aircraft;
Tracking and executing budget for several aircraft across multiple locations.
