About the Position: This position is located at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC).
Duties
Coordinates calibration and control/account for test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) throughout the gauge lab, equipment storage locations, and production buildings.
Maintains accurate overall TMDE records in the Automated Tool Inventory Control Tracking System (ATICTS), an enterprise database software application for tracking tools.
Assigns tasks within work area and provides guidance to other personnel involved with TMDE to gauge that are within the scope of the calibration program.
Operates a motor vehicle IAW traffic and safety regulations to transport electronic test equipment, materials, supplies, and other related equipment on public roads and highways.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 12 months by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area (foreign or non-foreign) as the position being filled.
Employees currently located in OCONUS (foreign or non-foreign) are not eligible for a detail to a CONUS position.If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Applying calibration requirements to coordinate and schedule the efficient flow of equipment in and out of gauge labs; 2) Inspecting returned items for damage or wear; 3) Ensuring calibrated items are properly marked for identification and calibration due dates; 4) Packing equipment securely to protect the item(s) during storage and/or shipment to calibration providers.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
