As a Lead Extramural Support Assistant (OA) you will provide high level administrative support and services to CSR Division Directors, Review Branch Chiefs, and Scientific Review Officers (SROs) and on-the-job training to Extramural Support Assistants.
Duties
Perform specialized tasks requiring continuing responsibilities for projects, questions, and issues related to the grants functions.
Serve as a point of contact and furnish explanations of the regulations and procedures pertaining to the grants function.
Review completed work of other clerical staff to ensure that instructions have been followed.
Provide logistical support and coordination for scientific conferences, workshops, and site visits as well as review and other advisory group meetings.
Maintain data in local databases and prepare reports.
Initiate and respond to email, telephone, and letter inquiries and provide requested materials.
Use software functions to produce a wide range of documents that require complex formats such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic draft s, and to update or revise existing databases or spreadsheets.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-08 level if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: ensuring grant applications or contract paperwork is complete, accurate, and free of errors; generating ad-hoc tabular reports from various data sources on administrative matters for management; using Microsoft Off ice products (or similar products) to produce correspondence, narrative reports, spreadsheets, and presentations; coordinating meeting and travel logistics (e.g., creating itineraries, finding affordable airfare and hotels, identifying meeting locations).
In addition, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors in a 5 minute sample.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
