The incumbent is responsible for the successful performance of Environmental Management Services, specifically with regard to administrative management, budget procurement, contract administration, communication and report preparations, access metrics, customer satisfaction, quality of services provided, and efficiency of service.
Duties

Maintains, coordinates, and integrates a system of staff services designed to provide effective managerial control over service resource utilization.
Acts as principal advisor on all administrative management matters associated with service programs and operations.
Oversees and monitors process to ensure service is meeting workload and productivity measures.
Ensures performance ratings are submitted accordingly with regulatory guidelines.
Provides specialized data support and guidance for hospital strategic planning, performance improvement, and operations.
Provides oversight and leadership for the implementation, spread, and sustainability of data-based decision making across the Health Care System.
Identifies and recommends ways of combining, eliminating, simplifying, and improving procedures and processes.
Designs organization wide operation efforts and analyzes the organization's processes and data.
Analyzes and manages work order schedules to ensure services are completed service guidelines and ensure highest efficiency of customer service are maintained.
Analyzes workload data to identify systemic problems and/or improvement opportunities, based on published national standards of medical treatment that can be used for educational purposes to reduce or prevent undesired outcomes.
Ensures that staff accomplishes appropriately and timely their daily work also ensuring staff is properly trained.
Collaborates with service staff to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate the ongoing effectiveness specific to Patient Safety/Risk Management and Performance Improvement/ Quality Management.
Serves as the approving official for supplies and services purchased from the services control points.
Manages fund control points with various and complex requirements to include procurement, leases, and contracting timelines.
Provides for the budgeting and financial management for organization, including budget formulation, justification, and execution.
Manages budget formulation and execution for changing budget calls, reviewing guidelines and instructions.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet one of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) in the Federal Service that has given the applicant the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this Administrative Officer position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes performing administrative duties such as administrative management, budget procurement, contract administration, communication and report preparations, and ensuring efficiency of service. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B., J.D., if related, that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the Administrative Officer position. This education must have been obtained in an accredited in an accredited college or university.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED): Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education (beyond the first year) and specialized experience, as described above, which may be used to meet total experience requirements for this grade level. The education portion must include graduate courses that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do to the work of this Administrative Officer position.
