About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Serve as Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) for the Directorate of Emergency Services. Prepare and recommend supplemental policy and program instruction affecting the logistical support operations in such areas as supply, non-tactical vehicles, transportation, etc. Review requisitions against authorized allowances according to the appropriate authorization documents. Manage all contract requirements in support of three divisions (Plans and Operations, Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency Services) and the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) staff. Prepare recurring reports (i.e., financial liability investigation of property loss ) and through personal observation analyzes equipment and other needs to support the mission. Recommend the disposition and redistribution of excess equipment and materiel consistent with established priorities and training needs as required. Conduct periodic and special staff visits throughout the Directorate, rendering staff assistance for the resolution of logistical deficiencies to assure timely and adequate logistical support and services. Perform routine maintenance, overhaul, and repair of standard types of mechanical locking devices such as mortise, rim, key-in-the-knob, deadbolt, office equipment, padlocks, and emergency exit locks.

• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
