You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the CYBERSECURITY BRANCH, LIVE VIRTUAL CONSTRUCTIVE TRAINING DIVISION, RANGE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.

Duties

You will serve as the Computer Network Defense (CND) Manager supporting NSWC Corona's management of the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Information Management Systems and assigned training systems. You will provide leadership to government and contractor personnel responsible for Cyber Defense Operations. You will oversee Cyber Defense capabilities for systems/networks up to the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) levels. You will provide informed program-related advice, information, and guidance regarding current and future information systems concepts, doctrine, methods, practices, operations, and technologies. You will provide Incident Response capabilities when incidents/violations are identified on networks, systems and applications. You will use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis of systems to identify malicious activity. You will perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.

• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Cyber Defense Analyst level Journeyman within 12 months of appointment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing network traffic to identify anomalous activity and report potential threats to network resources and cyber defense trends for an organization. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
