Duties

Leads, manages and supervises the review and validation of all programmed activities within assigned region(s) to ensure alignment with the US Indo-Pacific Command Theater Campaign Plan. Primary advisor for the validation of all proposed regional Security Cooperation activities. Provides advice on foreign affairs activities and information generated from political, military and intelligence sources throughout USINDOPACOM AOR. Maintains working relationships and coordination with regionally oriented foreign policy and intelligence communities. Manages battle rhythm events, requirements, and activities to ensure timely and efficient accomplishment of all assigned tasks, reports, and security cooperation operations, actions and activities across the USARPAC AOR.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing IAW DA guidelines and must complete a DA 5019.
  • The position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, evening, weekends, and holidays.
  • The position requires use of civilian and military transportation modes.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major or equivalent, or a combination of courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, in international law and international relations, political science, economics, history, sociology, geography, social or cultural anthropology, law, statistics, or in the humanities; OR 12 semester hours in one of the above disciplines and 12 semester hours in statistics/quantitative methods. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience in one or more of the fields, as shown in A above, in work associated with international organizations, problems, or other aspects of foreign affairs. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading and managing the development and coordination of policies, programs and plans as it relates to international relations, and security cooperation and planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: International Engagement Action PlanningInternational Engagement ImplementationOral CommunicationWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
