The Administrative Analyst position is located in the Office of the Deputy Director, Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Ethics Staff. The OGC provides legal counsel and services to the Director and AO staff, the Judicial Conference of the United States and its committees, judges, and other court officials.
Duties
This position will report to the Chief of the Ethics - Financial Disclosure Staff in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). The OGC is seeking a self-motivated, professional Administrative Analyst to provide high-quality staff support, guidance, and assistance to the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on Financial Disclosure responsible for implementing the financial disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. The incumbent will perform duties assigned with minimal guidance and meeting deadlines. The ideal candidate must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and have experience with Microsoft databases and collaborative document management and storage systems.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Providing high-quality professional staff support, guidance, and assistance to the Judicial Conference Committee on Financial Disclosure responsible for implementing the financial disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, including excellent customer service to customers within and outside the judiciary.
Assisting the counsel and staff in providing overall support to the mission of the Financial Disclosure Office and the Committee on Financial Disclosure
Helping financial disclosure staff identify financial, personnel, and material.
Performing redaction of excess information from financial disclosure reports prior to the reports being released to the public; performing redaction of information posing a security threat to filers as approved by the Financial Disclosure Committee Subcommittee on Release and Redaction; and maintaining familiarity with the statutes and regulations related to financial disclosure.
Assisting in the release and redaction process by performing data entry and queries, providing status updates to the public, saving reports on electronic storage devices, and emailing notification reminders to filers.
Assisting with the preparation of documentation used by the Committee to assess filers' requests for redaction of entries from their reports; contributing to the design of reports and report requirements, as well as the overall operational design of the office's electronic filing system and software related to the redaction program.
Assisting in the population of data into electronic tracking systems used to process, maintain, and monitor financial disclosure report filings, public requests for release of financial disclosure reports, and filer requests for redaction of financial disclosure reports filed with the Committee.
Preparing a variety of correspondence notices to be electronically sent to filers and members of the public; and assisting in the maintenance and support of the office's electronic tracking systems.
Using proper correspondence and office procedures to draft, review, and transmit notifications and correspondence, including letters, memoranda, e-mails, and electronic notifications.
Assisting with developing staff procedures and advising on best practices for securing, posting, and archiving documents.
Working collaboratively with counsel and staff to support all aspects of committee work.
Qualifications
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience coordinating and providing a broad range of administrative support; drafting, reviewing, and transmitting notifications and correspondence; and using automated systems and functions, including web-based applications, spreadsheets and database management software, word processing and PDF documents, email, and text retrieval software.
