Duties
Serves as the Wing Information Protection Program Manager executing/enforcing all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program.
Makes information protection risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues that may require deviations from or synthesis of policies.
Delivers, Security Awareness and Education Programs to satisfy security education and training requirements for all assigned organizations. Revises or augments training to support unique requirements.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The employee will be required to obtain and maintain a TS-SCI security clearance.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Program Integration Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
- Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
- In accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This includes experience, education, or training of law enforcement and security policy requirements and procedures to provide recommendations for making key decisions and policy development on short and long term security planning. Has the ability to prepare information security review reports and provide recommendations and advice to management. Experience or knowledge in advising installation project engineers, project managers, command mission leads, action officers, or affected operational officers of their responsibility to provide proper classified management guidance and specification requirements during performance of respective duties. Experience or knowledge in using initiative and resourcefulness in researching and implementing new and improved security methods and procedures. Including collecting, assembling, analyzing, and assessing background, data and other intelligence information. Experience or knowledge in formulating nd managing supplemental security education and training courses, meetings, and aids to assure maximum effectiveness of the programs. Experience or knowledge in reviewing analyzing, and briefing on the results of preliminary inquiries and formal investigations resulting from security violations/incidents. Must have at least 12 months specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade.

Education
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-12. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
