THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T6007000. Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs all security activities of the Security Office, ensuring that Information, Personnel, Physical, Industrial, and Automated Information System functional work areas comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with DOD, AF, SAF/AQ, MAJCOM, Wings, Groups, Squadron and civilian contract agencies. Manages the Special Access Industrial Security Program for the Installation as needed. Assists and oversees the implementation and administration of the automated information systems (AIS) security program as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • The employee will be required to take a drug test.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • The employee is required to maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • The employee may be required to travel TDY, sometimes on short notice, traveling in military and/or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours and tours of duty such as overtime, weekends, callback, uncommon tour of duty, holidays, etc. May be required to carry a cellular phone.
  • The employee will be required to have, or obtain, and maintain a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: The following six basic qualification criteria are required to successfully meet the basic qualification factors within an applicable career level in one of the seven specified security program disciplines: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit; Effective two-way radio or telephone communication; Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively; Ability to assess body language and perceive immediate risk levels; and, Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-12 expert career level in the Security Administration Series GS-0080, the applicant must have least 36 months experience in the Security career field or intelligence career field to include technical training schools and drill-status working experience. Security Forces and Intelligence training experiences are not required for individuals performing Chief of information Protection duties/responsibilities; Security Officer duties/responsibilities; or, Special Security Representative duties/responsibilities. Must have experiences in managing and supervising work functions and discipline requirements. Experienced in conducting employee performance evaluations; mentoring junior officers and enlisted squadron employees, managing resources and budgets; and directing assigned work, and leading the employees on all program tasks, inspections, exercises, deployments, and/or mobilizations. Must have experiences in planning and scheduling work in a manner that promotes smooth flow and even distribution of assigning work requirements. Experiences included Information Protection program training and guiding employees on programs and through assigned tasks. Experiences involved balancing Information Protection program requirements and providing advice, guidance, and direction on a wide variety of the program's policies and employee performance administrative issues. Experienced in structuring assignments to create effective and efficient procedures that resulted in measuring improved task processes. Previous supervisory experiences created improvements in mentoring, training applications and career development that resulted in the employees' increased performance values in quality work, timeliness considerations, and work efficiencies. Must have demonstrated experiences or endorsements on mentorship competencies provided to employees. Must have working knowledge of equal employment and affirmative action programs.??????? The below experience is Preferred but not required: Experience of Special Access Programs within the last 6 months Must have experiences in managing and supervising work functions and discipline requirements. Experienced in conducting employee performance evaluations; mentoring junior officers and enlisted squadron employees, managing resources and budgets; and directing assigned work, and leading the employees on all program tasks, inspections, exercises, deployments, and/or mobilizations.
