Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Systematically collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to critical infrastructure and presents that knowledge in a useful format.
Supports the development and leads the acquisition of data for analyses of regional infrastructure risk.
Researches, assesses, integrates, manipulates, exploits, extracts, and analyzes digital imagery geospatial databases, infrastructure databases, and various ancillary sources.
Identifying priority infrastructure in the region for preparedness and response activities.
Conducts research and analysis in support of regional activities and functions in order to maintain situational awareness of critical infrastructure operational activities, progress, and issues within the region.
Identifies and analyzes infrastructure issues to develop recommendations for programs related to critical infrastructure protection, incident response support, information sharing, and other topics as assigned.
Assists in the development, coordination, and implementation of critical strategic infrastructure plans to provide feasible courses of action as needed.
Advises the Regional Operations Manager, Regional Director, Regional Senior Leadership, and headquarters personnel of critical infrastructure trends in region to maintain leadership situational awareness.
Qualifications
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Assisting in developing or administering databases and/or data management systems that allow for the storage, query, protection, and utilization of data.
Examining data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of providing security and privacy insight.
Providing support in designing and implementing custom algorithms, workflow processes, and layouts for complex, enterprise-scale data sets.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Developing or administering databases and/or data management systems that allow for the storage, query, protection, and utilization of data.
Examining data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of providing security and privacy insight.
Designing and implementing custom algorithms, workflow processes, and layouts for complex, enterprise-scale data sets.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).
