Duties
Receive and test DA Software, Interim and Emergency Change Packages, Communications Software and other automation programs that automate the maintenance, supply, and transportation operations for the NTC and Fort Irwin
Perform Software conversion, hardware fielding and continuous support; research and resolves hardware, software, and applications program problems.
Monitor systems to determine their efficiency in meeting established information requirements.
Serve as the ADP Information System Security Officer (IASO) and Information Management Officer (IMO) of assigned areas of responsibility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Temporary duty up to 10% of the time.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime, and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Incumbent will perform duties of an Information Technology Level II (IT-II). Failure to meet the security requirements of the position will be grounds for removal from the position.
- Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training, obtain it within 180 days of appointment to this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience or education requirements described below. Specialized Experience GS-9: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following. Work on resolving customer issues with computer an related issues. Work on and learn about Information Technology automation systems, software, hardware installation or troubleshooting, and Data Management programs.
I also have Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1) Attention to Detail - Identify and analyze factors and conditions to recognize and apply an understanding of interrelationships among different information technology functions and activities.
2) Customer Service - Set up or troubleshoot automation and communications equipment.
3) Oral Communication - Exchange information, solve problems, coordinate work efforts and provide advice to personnel on automation and communication matters.
4) Problem solving - Troubleshoots internal and external devices to include hardware, software, and network communication difficulties.
OR
Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field of study applicable to the duties of this position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification).
OR
Have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Specialized Experience GS-11: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following. Provide technical advice and assistance to users in utilizing automated systems and the associated automated equipment or systems. Serve as the first line technical expert on the maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware and software problems for workstations, printers, etc. Manages the operations of an electronic records system for date and is familiar with overall operations. Studies, systems, and analyzes requirements for data management systems looking for issues, provide assistance or implement new software or systems.
I also have Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
1) Attention to Detail - Identify and analyze factors and conditions to recognize and apply an understanding of interrelationships among different information technology functions and activities.

Have a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree or (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or completion of all requirements for an LL.B or J.D. degree from an accredited college or university that directly applies to the work being performed (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)

Have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years.
