You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Aviation Support Detachment (ASD) of AVIATION SUPPORT DETACHMENT WA DC.

Duties
You will participate in analyses of systems and programs, problems associated with supply systems, analyzes specific problems reported by database users, performs specific independent analytical assignments in support of projects and studies.
You will monitor, review and analyze information from automated systems to determine overall supply effectiveness and monitor status and effectiveness of material support and follows-up with responsible parties.
You will assist in the development of plans to control inventory, provide advice in clearing up discrepancies in inventory records, perform inventory reconciliation, monitor custodial balances, and request physical inventories.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing and overseeing expeditious handling of priority requirements to meet existing schedules and deadlines, coordinate with representatives of other units/commands concerning matters of work accomplishment, priority assignment and procedural practice.
Experience evaluating rejected transactions to determine systemic causes and identify potential problem areas.
Experience participating in planning and determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs for items of low and medium monetary value.
Experience identifying and recommending ways to resolve material support problems, makes determinations as to whether to buy, fabricate or repair items, and provides recommendations concerning substitutions and cannibalizations.
Experience in inventory management techniques and accounting procedures utilized for appropriation accounting allotments, obligations, accounts payable and disbursements.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
SUCCESSFUL completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
