You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Safety Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will supervises, plans, assigns work, and develops performance evaluation standards and training needs of assigned personnel.
You will conduct safety investigations of mishaps.
You will develop technical safety training to workplace supervisors and employees using a wide variety of materials, publications, exhibits, protective devices, and visual aids.
You will provide recommendations and resolution to construction/industrial worksite and operational safety issues.
You will perform monitoring tasks of occupational environment using a variety of instruments to determine potentially unsafe exposures.
You will manage and administer specific safety and occupational health programs in accordance with Navy regulations, OSHA requirements, process review and measurement systems and/or other similar methodologies.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Supervises, plans, assigns work, and develops performance evaluation standards and training needs of assigned personnel. 2) Conduct safety investigations of mishaps; 3) Develop briefs, summaries, and/or training materials to help promote safety initiatives or findings; 4) Provide recommendations and resolution to construction/industrial worksite and operational safety issues; 5) Perform monitoring tasks of occupational environment using a variety of instruments to determine potentially unsafe exposures and; 6) Manage and administer safety and occupational health programs IAW OSHA requirements, existing Navy/DoD regulations, etc.
