You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Engineering and Planning Department, Code 200 of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide secretarial support and be responsible for the efficient, effective and reliable secretarial functions of the Department Manager's office.
You will maintain and control the supervisors' calendars advising them daily of appointments or conferences.
You will obtain and provide background information on various subject matter and present information to supervisors prior to scheduled phone calls, visitors or meetings.
You will schedule, reschedule, or refuse appointments without prior approval and must accept or decline invitations to meetings, using initiative and discretion.
You will receive and screen visitors and phone calls from shipyard managers, NAVSEA officials, and military visitors for the Department Managers, referring them based upon knowledge of programs and operations.
You will make arrangements for conferences, reserve space for the conference, and notify each person who is to attend of the date, time and place as well as the subject matter.
You will be responsible for the preparation and processing of department travel using the Defense Travel System (DTS), to include knowledge of travel itself, lodging and rental cars.
You will input time into SUPDESK daily and oversee time and attestation administration to support the department.
You will establish and maintain files in accordance with the Records Management requirements.
You will use Department of Navy correspondence manuals to format and edit letters and memorandums.
You will provide basic supply management (ordering and receipt).
You will perform basic budget tracking (e.g., expenditures, balances, awards, etc.).
Requirements

Qualifications
For the GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing principal office support functions to include coordinating the work of an office by establishing priorities and schedules, making travel and conference arrangements, formatting and proofreading letters or memoranda, and maintaining and controlling an electronic calendar to ensure workflow efficiency
For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing office support functions to include utilizing automated systems to make travel arrangements, format and proofread letters or memoranda, maintain and control an electronic calendar, and maintain filing systems.

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education that is directly related to the position being filled.
