This position is located within the Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of the Administrator. This position serves as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Administrator. The incumbent serves as a close, confidential advisor to and representative of the Administrator.

Duties

As a Senior Advisor you will: Coordinate and drive enterprise-wide projects and initiatives that align with DEA priorities and objectives. Assist in the development and review of policy proposals. Perform legal analysis, research, and writing on criminal, civil, and administrative law issues. Work closely with the Administrator and staff in the preparation of final documents issued by the Administrator, among other duties. Practice in the Drug Enforcement, Criminal Law, and Administrative Law area.

  • This is a Reimbursable DETAIL opportunity Not-to-Exceed 1 Year, which might be extended without further competition.
  • Selectee will be reassigned back to current, permanent position at the end of the detail.
  • Supervisor's Approval Letter is required at the point of selection.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) and have at least 3 years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
