This position is in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking (SMART). This incumbent serves as a Communications Coordinator.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.Specialized experience is defined as experience in developing and implementing communications plans supporting many cross- media outreach activities; Developing administrative policy guides for communication program areas; Developing strategies for working with the media to publicize agency or company programs and services; devising strategies to market and communicate programs and publications; and applying knowledge of internet and intranet technologies in developing and designing websites and social media pages.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:1) Ability to plan and execute work in a timely fashion.2) Ability to represent top management to a variety of groups.3) Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.4) Ability to meet and deal with others.5) Ability to communicate effectively in writing.6) Knowledge of communication concepts, principles, and methods.7) Ability to perform writing and editing duties.8) Ability to manage a publications program, including all phases of editing/production.Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
