This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
Duties
Serves as a senior network administrator and Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) manager.
Leads major network projects such as re-establishing connectivity for relocated employees, accommodating disabled employees and implementing telecommunications support activities.
Diagnoses and resolves network problems. Develops network back-up and recovery procedures.
Serves on applications development teams to ensure network requirements are addressed during the systems development process from translation of functional requirements through systems testing.
Applies a comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying network design and architecture principles and concepts sufficient to establish connectivity between remote sites.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Researching and analyzing network data to include installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Identifying and obtaining principle methods of hardware networking and software installation. Communicating policy and procedure of engineering solutions and operational assessments
