This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-Pacific, Operations Division, Ford Island Hawaii.
Duties
Applies technical knowledge and skill to include enterprise network architecture, infrastructure, and standards. Applies a mastery level of IT networking principles, concepts, methods, and practices.
Develops, interprets, plans, and applies policies, processes, procedures, and strategies in the delivery of multi-discipline IT networking services required to achieve data and system integration/interoperability for assigned systems/applications.
Prepares and presents cogent and cohesive analyses and briefings advising DoD and DISA management leadership on new technological developments, techniques, and enhancements.
Manages interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines and systems development principles and approaches to lead IT systems development projects from design to support. Develops project plans and oversees the implementation of project activities.
Deploys IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices, sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- This is a drug test position requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
- This position is subject to Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the DoD 8140 policy series for the position's required CYBER Work Role(s).
- This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS) up to 25 percent of the time.
- This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- This is a Mission Essential position.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Experience planning, engineering, project management, or operating commercial or government IP/MPLS or Optical enterprise networks to ensure availability and accessibility of local area networks or wide area networks.
