Duty Locations are:
Yosemite NP, California
Lassen Volcanic NP: Mineral, California
As a Maintenance Mechanic Leader, some of the duties you will perform will include, but not limited to:
Provide daily direction to at least three workers to accomplish trades work on regular and recurring basis. Assist with project logistics, planning, and completion of reports, etc.
Perform work on historic structures and ensure compliance processes are followed, while maintaining the historic fabric and integrity of the historic building and trails.
Perform journeyman level carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and masonry work and lead others in these trades.
Provide guidance and assistance to other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
Operate cars and trucks and other equipment such as a Bobcat loader with attachments, front-end loaders, graders and dump trucks.
Physical Demands: Physical effort is heavy to moderate and requires occasional lifting or handling of objects or materials up to 50 pounds, unassisted, following proper lifting procedures to avoid injury. Frequently required to stand while working, climb ladders or scaffolding, and bend, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions.
Working Conditions: Exposed to a variety of seasonal weather conditions while working outdoors (temperatures -40 to 90+ degrees). Subject to danger of falling from ladders or scaffolding. Exposed to dust, dirt, wind, and rain. May work with dangerous chemicals (paints, solvents, etc.) and around moving equipment. May be exposed to electrical shocks, and biting insects.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Lead or Supervise (SCREEN OUT)
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
Knowledge of Materials
Technical Practices. (theoretical precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
