Duties

As a Space Management Specialist, GS-12 you will perform the following duties: Providing advice and technical support maintaining a comprehensive Real Management System (RPMS) for active facilities projects; Ensuring consistent space standards are maintained for unique agency program requirements; Coordinating requests from the field and headquarters mission support; Collaborating with General Schedule Agency (GSA), contract engineers, and/or architects in establishing design criteria, standards, layouts and specifications for various offices, centers units, and unique space areas; AND Preparing or coordinating the preparation of cost estimates, spending and budget.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Prepares and coordinates the preparation of construction plans, specifications, layouts and cost estimates for space management projects; Prepares land use permits and licensing agreements for properties jointly occupied; AND Coordinates the review of plans for major projects prepared by contract architects/engineers for compliance with department space standards and regional requirements. You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Assisting in the implementation of space planning activities; Ensuring consistent space standards are maintained and adhere to program requirements; Assisting in coordinating the preparation and review of construction plans, specifications layouts, occupancy agreements, and cost estimates for space projects for team lead; AND Provides support, advice and solutions to the architects, engineers, and internal customers during the layout, design, finish selection, construction and inspection phases of space projects.
