As a Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller (SDC) for Management, you will serve as an expert and senior advisor on Office of Management issues regarding operational strategies, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and independent assessments in administrative operations, acquisitions, financial management, human capital, and information technology. You will provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of policies and oversee special projects.

Duties

As a Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller for Management, you will: Manage information of a broad range of processes relevant to the operations of the Office of Management (OM), oversee strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and development of targeted operational strategies to improve cross-collaboration across OM divisions. Identify ways to use information technology to enhance communications and improve work processes and products. Review and provide advice regarding memoranda, strategies, papers, policies, and other materials. Perform independent assessments of OM functions and provide recommendations on how to resolve gaps in operations, collaboration, and sharing of information for cross-functional OM initiatives. Execute and support research and analysis, direct cross-functional teams, and make recommendations on tactical, operation, and strategic initiatives. Consult with and provide advice to the SDC in developing, planning, organizing, and implementing OM priorities and strategies by analyzing and preparing solutions and carrying out the objectives and goals of the organization. Provide direction and guidance to improve OM-wide services, practices, processes, policies, and communication. Represent the SDC on various OCC committees, working group and inter-agency groups. Undertake special projects at the request of the SDC, including managing cross-functional teams involved in high visibility matters. Participate in policy development, strategic planning, risk management and compliance, building broad consensus across OM and successfully representing these policies and plans.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level or GS-14 grade level to qualify for the band level NB-VII. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Performing independent assessments and providing policy recommendations to senior leadership on operational strategies in at least two of the following areas: administrative operations, financial management, human capital, and information technology; Collaborating with different teams across an organization to undertake and execute special projects that are sensitive, controversial, and highly visible; Identifying ways to use information technology to improve work processes and products; and Interacting with executives and managers and serving as the organization's representative at meetings with stakeholders and high-level officials. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
