This position is located in Administrative Services of the Phoenix Service Unit. The Support Services Program Specialist provides general and logistical support for activities that support the provision of healthcare services in the areas of mail management; transportation (patient and employee); travel management; communications support; and welcoming desk reception services. This position also serves as principal staff advisor for all other support services of other departmental components.
Duties
Plans, directs, and coordinates the operation of the support service programs.
Develops and executes policies and procedures for a centralized operation designed to provide maximum efficiencies.
Assures delivery of services through a continuous review of program accomplishments against established objectives.
Allocates and reprograms resources to accommodate changing business conditions.
Initiates requests for filling vacancies, selects or participates in the selection of new hires, develops performance standards, evaluates employee performance, and identifies training needs.
Resolves informal complaints and grievances, assists improving the performance of employees, effects minor disciplinary
measures such as warnings/reprimands and makes recommendations on sore serious cases
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Providing general and logistical support services in the areas of mail management; transportation (patient and employee); travel management; communications support; photocopying services and welcoming desk reception services.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
