The position of Deputy Director of NNSA's Executive Secretariat will assist the Director in managing a team of Federal and contractor employees carrying out the mission and functions of the NNSA Executive Secretariat.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience leading an organization that is responsible for ensuring correspondence and other executive products comply with rules of grammar, format, clarity, and organizational messaging. Experience managing a team and developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures while solving unique programmatic problems.
Examples of Specialized Experience:
1. Coordinating and advising senior leaders on management or administrative practices and procedures common to organizations; i.e., areas of responsibility, channels of communication, delegation of authority, routing of correspondence, filing systems and storage of files and records.
2. Working collaboratively and maintaining cooperative relationships with officials in Federal, state, or local government agencies and public and international entities.
3. Writing, interpreting, and developing instructions to implement higher echelon agency regulations, policies, and procedures.
4. Presenting status reports, special reports, and briefings on various subjects to higher level management utilizing computer applications sufficient to prepare written reports, spreadsheets, statistical tables, and flowcharts.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
