Duties

The Congressional Research Service (CRS), Office of Legislative Information Services (LIS) is seeking a Supervisory Legislative Analyst.  LIS is the organization within CRS and the Library of Congress that is mandated to produce summaries of legislation for the United States Congress. These summaries are considered to be authoritative for Federal legislation: they are consulted widely by lawmakers, policymakers, academics, and members of the public who are seeking accurate, objective information on both new and amended Federal legislation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to lead and manage staff** Ability to review the analysis and writing of others** Ability to recommend, design, and implement editorial policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and publishing processes and tools** Ability to interact collaboratively with others** Knowledge of public policy areas Knowledge of the legislative process Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing
