Duties
You will identify type of material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, shelving, restraints) necessary to move or store heavy, bulky, or odd-shaped items.
You will move heavy materials in close quarters (e.g., narrow aisles or ramps, in and out of buildings, on and off trucks or other conveyance).
You will operate power equipment and small hand tools to assist with warehousing duties.
You will safely operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment to gather items for shipment.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Occasional travel away from the normal duty station is required.
Qualifications
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including:
1. Knowledge of hazardous material processes and procedures is required to ensure safe handling and adherence to governing regulatory and policies.
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
3. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices and procedures.
4. Skill in and ability to use automated material processing equipment and systems to include computers, optical readers and scanners. Ability to enter, modify and retrieve information from electronic records, supply systems and reports.
