This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS).
The primary purpose of this position is:
Performing duties as the Supervisory Cyber-Physical Branch Chief within the Technology and Innovation Directorate, assigned to the Cyber-Physical Division under the supervision of the Division Director.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory Cyber-Physical Specialist, GS-1801-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Manages the identification of sites, coordination with stakeholders, and conduct of cybersecurity assessments at federal facilities.
Manages work assignments and program management activities related to accomplishing various cyber physical mission space goals and objectives.
Serves as a liaison for cyber related subject matter to law enforcement personnel internal and external to the agency and department.
Interprets technology, security, and cybersecurity related directives and regulations and determines the impact on existing programs, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Manages and approves reports on cybersecurity evaluations of non-traditional technologies including connected vehicles, law enforcement technologies, internet of things, and other operational technologies.
Plans and coordinates assessment, mitigation, and documentation activities to support cybersecurity and risk identification of systems and networks supporting federal facilities.
Manages the collection of and monitoring of external data sources, and maintains awareness of current cyber threats, attack vectors, and exploitation techniques applicable to technologies supporting federal facilities and Agency mission space.
Collaborates with various divisions within the agency to ensure FPS goals and mission are achieved. Provides advice and uses considerable judgment and professional insight to balance security requirements with mission needs.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13
grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Experience directing Cyber-Physical program; assisting with planning short and long term agency priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work assigned work to subordinates based on priorities.
Determining overall compliance with security program policies, standards, and procedures.
Evaluating building systems' cybersecurity configurations and identification of technical security programs and activities.
Collaborating with various divisions within agency to ensure the goals, mission, and program objectives are being achieved.
You must also meet the following:
Pre-employment Medical Requirements: Prior to appointment, you must be determined physically fit by an authorized government physician to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties which may include protecting citizens, taking suspects into custody using reasonable physical force in the face of physical resistance and responding to situations requiring physical agility and quick and legally sufficient decision making. Also successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination (which includes, but is not limited to vision, hearing, cardiovascular and mobility of extremities) given by an authorized government physician. This position may be subject to periodic incumbent examinations in the future.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid automobile driver's license at the time of appointment and be available for frequent travel.
Lautenberg Amendment: This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
Certifications: CISSP, CEH, A+, Network +, and Security+ certifications are desired but not required for initial hiring.
Training (Mandatory): Mandatory training is required, which must be completed, and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. The incumbent must obtain a Computing Technology Industry Association CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certification (or equivalent) within one year after EOD.
Security Clearance: This position's Sensitivity is Special Sensitive, and requires a Top Secret (SCI) clearance to perform the full range of duties.
Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
