This position is assigned to the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Offshore Patrol Cutter Division of the Surface Acquisitions Logistics Center (SALC), Baltimore, MD.
Duties
This position supports all Coast Guard Surface Acquisitions and serves as the liaison between the USCG Acquisitions programs and US Navy Program Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) in support of Navy Type Navy Owned and Navy Type Coast Guard Owned equipment. This position is assigned to the Offshore Patrol Cutter Division of the Surface Acquisitions Logistics Center (SALC) located in Baltimore, MD.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
Applicants at the GS-13 level must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service.
Examples of specialized experience includes work that required: a knowledge of advanced concepts, principles, and practices in the supply support field of logistics management; a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment and improvements of logistics program effectiveness or the improvements of complex logistics management processes and systems; a knowledge of the range of administrative laws, policies, regulations and precedents applicable to the administration of one or more important logistics management operations; a knowledge of agency program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the work of program accomplishments; and/or skill in planning, organizing and conducting team study work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations. Experience with shipboard (HM&E or electronics) maintenance or life cycle support. Experience in and knowledge of Major System Acquisition practices, preferably in the domain of ship design, construction, and transition to sustainment. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.
