This position is located within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System within the Volunteer Support service line. The Veterans Health Administration has adopted the Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) Modernization Initiative which is a new model of organizing and consolidating essential voluntary functions and services to the Medical Center. This is not a remote or virtual position, you must live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of the duty location.

Duties

The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran. This is done in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community. This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. Major duties listed but not limited to: Plan, development, organize, coordinate manage and evaluate Voluntary/Community Resource Services (CRS) Manage department functions, fiscal and program management of Voluntary/CRS Standardize business processes as it relates to volunteerism, donations and establish performance measures Allocate resources consistent with the facility and Voluntary/CRS priorities Identify volunteer manpower to meet the needs of the facility Provide leadership in accessing the degree of volunteer services and resources available in the community Serve as a catalyst for the development and implementation of creative service delivery models that address complex patient needs Communicate to a broad range of individuals, organizations, non-profits and corporate executives to sustain community engagement Serve as a facility liaison for five Veteran Service Organizations Serve as a Purchase Card Holder and approving official for 25 purchase card accounts Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (work hours may be further discussed during the interview) Telework, Ad Hoc: Ad Hoc telework occurs on an occasional, non-routine basis- for example, inclement weather or telework that occurs to complete short-term special assignments or to accommodate special circumstances even though the telework arrangement may occur continuously for a limited and specific period of time. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/12/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
