You will serve as an AIRCRAFT OVERHAUL and REPAIR SUPERVISOR in the MRO F/A-18 Production Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER WEST located at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA.

Duties

You will plan the use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and other resources to accomplish daily and future work operations. You will plan the work assignments of artisans based on schedules, resources, and skill level. You will approve/disapprove leave schedules, monitor sick leave usage, track training requirements, and create performance reports. You will conduct audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure aircraft overhaul repair work meets compliance standards. You will ensure artisans receive training in proper work methods, use of equipment, and shop practices including certifications and licenses required to perform the work of the artisan's trade. You will be required to have regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE I have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks as an expert or have been consulted by other employees in difficult situations performing duties including: 1) Leading or supervising artisans, establishing priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments, and determining task sequencing; 2) Estimating material, equipment, and manpower needs to balance changing workload and personnel requirements; 3) Planning future work schedules, budgets, workload, and equipment acquisitions and ensuring workload quality and quantity standards are met; 4) Journeyman level knowledge and experience from any of the various aircraft platforms/components and general knowledge and understanding of all aircraft trades; 5) Working to resolve or prevent problems by determining the cause, finding a solution, and taking corrective action; and 6) Communicating with management on a variety of issues, as well as effectively communicating with shop artisans on compliance issues and work requirements. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative including: 1) Leading or supervising artisans, establishing priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments, and determining task sequencing; 2) Estimating material, equipment, and manpower needs to balance changing workload and personnel requirements; 3) Journeyman level knowledge and experience from any of the various aircraft platforms/components and general knowledge and understanding of all aircraft trades; 4) Working to resolve or prevent problems by determining the cause, finding a solution, and taking corrective action; and 5) Communicating with management on a variety of issues, as well as effectively communicating with shop artisans on compliance issues and work requirements. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. ???????I have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Leading or supervising artisans, establishing priorities and deadlines of scheduled assignments, and determining task sequencing; 2) Estimating material, equipment, and manpower needs to balance changing workload and personnel requirements; 3) Journeyman level knowledge and experience from any of the various aircraft platforms/components and general knowledge and understanding of all aircraft trades; and 4) Working to resolve or prevent problems by determining the cause, finding a solution, and taking corrective action. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
