Duties

Serves as Security Intelligence Security Officer, implementing Personnel Security, Information Security, Industrial Security, Communications Security, Security Education, Training, and Awareness, and Foreign Disclosure, etc. Interprets a wide variety of Department of Defense, Army, US Army Pacific (USARPAC) and I CORPS regulations and directives to effectively promulgate the security policy/procedures addressing in multi-discipline security functions. Manages/oversees personnel security program in accordance with current laws, regulations, and policies. Makes key decisions for the industrial security mission in conjunction with the Contracting Officers for all classified and/or sensitive procurement actions and resolve any security problems that may hinder mission accomplishment. Informs and/or briefs division personnel on classified information non-disclosure agreement and execute a Non-Disclosure Agreement, initial orientation, courier of classified material, and mandatory annual security awareness training.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel may require up to 20% of the time.
• This is a "Key" position IAW AR 690-11. For Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations, prior to occupying the position, must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations.
• This position requires obtaining the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
