About the Position: Serves as the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Special Agent-In-Charge (SAC) and is the principal law enforcement expert and advisor responsible for all operations and criminal investigations conducted by CID offices within their area of responsibility. Directly supervises supervisory, full performance and developmental Criminal Investigators and support personnel who are co-located and assigned to satellite offices.

Duties

Continually review, analyze and supervise operations criminal investigative and intelligence actions. Direct the development of long-range objectives in the areas of operations and general crime support services. Serves as the senior USACID law enforcement official to assess crime trends and problem areas. Plan, prepare, coordinate, and present briefings to high-ranking DA and DoD management officials, as well as occasional Congressional delegations, on the conduct of activities. Direct, coordinate, or oversee work of subordinate supervisors. Responsible for obtaining and allocating investigative resources for the Field Office to achieve CID program objectives. Direct the strategic planning, overall policy development, program direction, and evaluation of the office to achieve mission success.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing is required IAW AR 600-85.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • Must qualify with and carry a firearm.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position may require travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Must agree in writing to comply with management-directed permanent change of station (PCS) movement to meet mission requirements. Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.
  • Position requires annual completion of a Financial Disclosure Form, OGE-450.
  • Position requires access to classified material will be required to complete a SF-312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • This position is considered Emergency Essential.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment, must maintain license while employed in the position, and will be required to operate a motor vehicle.

Applicants must agree to work an average of two hours extra per day to meet the requirements for LEAP as described in 5 U.S.C.5545a(d)(1). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Performance of above duties requires moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that the incumbent may perform the duties satisfactorily. Incumbent must possess sufficiently good vision, with or without glasses, in each eye, in order that they may perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, glasses permitted, must be acute for reading of printed materials the size of typewritten characters. The ability of incumbent to hear conversational voices and whispered speech is required. Any hearing impairment may be compensated for by use of a hearing aid. Since the duties of the position are exacting, responsible, and involve work performed under arduous and dangerous conditions, you must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition, which would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself or to others, will disqualify him/her.
