The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a subject matter expert in the role of Security Cooperation Analyst (Country Portfolio Director) with responsibilities for developing, promulgating monitoring of policies, procedures, and special projects required to ensure security cooperation/security assistance programs operates in an effective and responsible manner throughout the Department of Defense (DoD).
Duties
As a SECURITY COOPERATION (SC) ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Participating in developing, coordinating and establishing security cooperation/security assistance programs for a number of assigned countries within established policy, procedures and legislations.
Reviewing, coordinating, and recommending revisions to legislative proposals and higher Executive Branch policies regarding assigned security cooperation/security assistance programs within established DoD (Department of Defense) policy.
Serving as subject matter expert in the role of Security Cooperation Analyst with responsibilities for developing, promulgating monitoring of policies, procedures, and special projects required to ensure security cooperation/security assistance programs operates in an effective and responsible manner throughout the DoD.
Developing and coordinating Foreign Military Sales forecasts for use of policy decisions and congressional budget presentations, reviewing and analyzing projected Foreign Military Sales activity to ensure conformity with policy restrictions imposed on the program.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Participating in developing and coordinating security assistance and or foreign military sales programs with foreign partners
Developing and monitoring policies and procedures required to ensure security assistance and or foreign military sales programs operate effectively.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
