This position is located in the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Office of Security (SEC). The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Security and serves as the Insider Threat Investigator (ITI). Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Duties
As a Investigator, you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
Review threat reporting information for insider threat relevance; leaks, spills, espionage, sabotage, and targeted violence, and assist determine if further assessment/actions are required.
Conducts field investigations including interviews, record searches, and contacts with other sources of investigative information.
Reports results of investigations in written and/or verbal form. Written reports must be concise, factual, logical, and grammatically correct.
Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the Insider Threat Program to ensure that the program meets minimum standards.
Resolves significant derogatory information developed during investigation, through additional inquiries.

- This is a national security position. If selected, this position requires the completion of the SF-86.
- Suitability Determination: If selected, you may be subject to a background investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The background investigation may include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
- This position is not covered by a union agreement.
- The full performance grade level for this position is GS-13.
- If you are a male applicant who is born after 12/31/59, you are required to be registered for the Selective Service.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-12 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Conducting Insider Threat inquiries, or related investigative activities;
Interact with diverse group of people from varied backgrounds to develop information of insider threat interest;
Prepare responses to queries, investigative reports, justifications, and background papers on insider threat issues;
Knowledge of laws, procedures, and program relating to investigations and inquiries;
Applying investigative principles, concepts, and methods of fact-finding; interviewing personnel for various reasons, and supporting information for completeness and accuracy.
Education
Education is not required for this grade level. It cannot be used for qualification purposes.
