You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the S1 MANPOWER DIVISION of HQTSBATTALION.

Duties

You will provide technical assistance and support on computer and other IT related problems. You will install and troubleshoot a variety of applications to include commercial off the shelf programs. You will submit and manage service requests for local purchases of IT equipment, applications and services to support mission requirements within the area of responsibility. You will generate a variety of technical reports of actionable requirements and information as required by regulatory guidance and the leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 2, April 20, 2010.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-11Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing professional customer service and technical assistance to clients (e.g. coordinating operations of Video Tele-Conferencing VTC equipment, graphics and presentations), Identifying and resolving a wide variety of computer hardware and software malfunctions AND logging and maintaining trouble calls. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: ANALYZING THE TYPES, FREQUENCIES, AND SOLUTIONS NECESSARY TO CORRECT PROBLEMS AND IMPROVE SERVICES DESK OPERATION AND EFFICIENCY. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: BROADCASTING OR PROVIDING CURRENT STATUS OF CRITICAL SYSTEMS VIA NETWORK MESSAGING NOTIFICATIONS AND/OR WEB PAGE TO MINIMIZE EXCESSIVE CUSTOMER STATUS INQUIRIES. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: RECEIVING PHONE CALLS, WALK-INS, OR COMPUTER-GENERATED SERVICE REQUESTS AND RESPONDING IN AN EFFECTIVE AND TIMELY MANNER. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: RESOLVING A WIDE VARIETY OF TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, INCLUDING BOTH HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MALFUNCTIONS. Education

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
