About the Position: Serves as an Educational Technician at the Faculty and Staff Development Department, U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence responsible for creating, correcting, updating, and maintaining student enrollment and graduation data for multiple professional development military courses, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Responds to telephonic/email inquiries about course dates for multiple professional courses and seat availability for each. Reviews each student enrollment form and filters out those that are incomplete, inappropriate, or ineligible for the training. Provides a variety of administrative duties in support of the student disposition program. Maintains and verifies academic files prior to close-out and graduation of class.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes compiling and maintaining academic files, student enrollment and graduation information; using office automation systems, computers, and training management systems to submit and retrieve student information and data; preparing correspondence, reports, forms and other required documents using proper format, accuracy of spelling and punctuation. Experience utilizing customer service skills with all oral, written, and technology-based communication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
