The NCUA's Office of General Counsel is seeking experienced professionals to join its Information and Access Law (IAL) division. The IAL team is responsible for the agency's privacy, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), records management, Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA), and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) programs.
Duties
As a Government Information Specialist (FOIA & PRA), you will:
Record, track, and report status on information collection paper forms, websites, surveys, or electronic submissions for the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) program that impose an information collection burden on the public and require OMB approval.
Prepare Information Collection Requests (new requests and renewals) and submit to OMB in ROCIS.
Process FOIA requests, including analyzing requests, identifying responsive records, reviewing responsive records and applying redactions, preparing response letters, and preparing quarterly and annual FOIA reports.
Develop guidance and training for agency staff regarding PRA and FOIA.
Contribute to the success of the privacy, records management, and CUI programs, including completing routine compliance activities, giving guidance to other offices, and developing and implementing new processes when necessary.

- Suitable adjudication of background/security investigation is required.
- A probationary/trial period may be required.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
All applicants applying for the CU-13 grade level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-12 grade level obtained in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: ensuring agency compliance with PRA guidelines; reviewing and analyzing FOIA and privacy requests and responsive records/materials; preparing written materials; and providing information guidance to internal or external customers, stakeholders, or management officials.
Ideal Candidate Statement: Theideal candidate has substantial experience serving as a Specialist/Analyst responsible for completing routine activities related to the Paperwork Reduction Act and the Freedom of Information Act, and has some experience supporting federal privacy and records management programs.
