Supervises the housekeeping section on all shifts within the facilities management division responsible for all matters pertaining to housekeeping/custodial operations. Assigns work requirements, directs methods and procedures as required, and assigns tasks. Work is reviewed in progress or upon completion and quality and quantity of work is appraised. On the-job and formal training is conducted in accordance with objectives, plans, and schedules established by the Facility Manager, or designee.
Duties
Major Duties:
Performing administrative actions including Equal Employment Opportunity acts, disciplinary mediation, personnel requests, work schedule issues, and leave requests initiated by these employees will be discussed with and resolved by the incumbent unless higher level authority is required for six or more Housekeeping Aids.
First line reviewer of all work issued and completed by employees for the Housekeeping Section for quality and timeliness of completion schedules.
Assigning immediate tasks to be performed by individual member of the group led.
Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed to include safe operation of equipment.
Has a practical working knowledge of the basic principles of chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as applied to environmental sanitation, infection control, and the choice and use of antimicrobial agents in the disinfection, sanitation, and/or sterilization of surfaces and equipment.
Understands the precautions in working to avoid serious injuries when working on ladders and when using heavy powered equipment.
Conducting training and promoting details and assignments for the development of employees toward higher levels of responsibility, counseling employees , and initiating disciplinary actions as needed.
Has knowledge of pertinent regulations and policies as they apply to the duties of the position and to the functions of housekeeping program areas.
Evaluate work operations and review completed work and inspection reports to assure that standards are met; and coordinate work operations with the supervisors of other sections within Great Lakes CMOP.
Work Schedule: 6:30am-3:00pm or 3:30pm-12:00am

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work involves various conditions and environments from working in an office, production plant floor, or on a construction site. Lifting 40 lbs., Bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, and kneeling during shifts.
