This position is located in the Department of Education (ED), Federal Student Aid (FSA), Strategic Measures and Outcomes (SPAR) office. The incumbent serves as a Senior Manager; authoritative and expert source of information on programmatic and management activities of the assigned organization. He/she will perform a variety of special projects designed to improve the management and operations of the assigned organizations.
Duties
As the Director of Strategic Planning and Reporting, AD-0301, 00 (Equiv GS-15), you will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Selective Service registration is required if you are a male born after December 31, 1959.
- May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Position requires filing of OGE Form 450.
- May be required to complete a one year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards.ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the (GS-15 Equiv) level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience in the federal service or equivalent in the private sector to at least the (GS-14 Equiv) level; performing the following duties or work assignments: 1) Conducting data and program analyses and applying analytical skills to a variety of projects and programs and presenting recommendations to others 2) Performing strategic planning, development, implementation, and the measurement and assessment of program accomplishments against established plans and goals and 3) Executing change management practices and principles to ensure that customers, partners, employees, technology, human resources, finance, and budget are all aligned to facilitate change to improve operations and meet goals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
